Statistical knowledge helps you use the proper methods to collect the data, employ the correct analyses, and effectively present the results. Statistics is a crucial process behind how we make discoveries in science, make decisions based on data, and make predictions. Statistics allows you to understand a subject much more deeply. The department of statistics, Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi was established in year 1977. The department offered undergraduate and post graduate course in statistics. The department has earned for itself an excellent reputation in teaching and research with specialization in Statistical Inference, Design of Experiments, Survey Sampling, Econometrics, Bio-Statistics, Reliability and other applied areas. Department has its own Computers Labs having 40 Computers with Software like SPSS, STATA, R etc. There is a good collection of books in department with latest titles in various areas of statistics.

To impart quality education in theoretical and practical aspects of statistics to students in order to prepare them for research opportunities, professional courses for high salaried and challenging jobs mission. We are constantly seeking better ways to do that in more and more challenging situation, using mathematics, computing and insight.

Currently there are 10 faculty members who are remains devoted in nurturing knowledge quotient and proper learning of our students. At the same time students of Statistics department are very hardworking and put all their effort in getting excellent result, reputation and fame to the department.
