The BA (Hons) in Economics in the college has been able to attract number of students from different parts of the country. The discipline continues to be one of the most challenging one for the students. Apart from the BA (Hons) course, the Department engages the economics classes in BA Programme as well as the Generic Elective courses in Economics. The course is conducted as per the curriculum designed and revised from time to time by the Department of Economics, Delhi School of Economics.

The flagship event of the Department of Economics BLISSPOINT is organized by the Economics Association. Student leadership is at its best in the organization of this event, which has been able to attract national and international participation over the years. With strong student initiative, an annual is brought out by the Department of Economics: ECON EXPRESSIONS.As part of the series of events like Distinguished lecture, Symposiums on Contemporary Issues, Research Colloquiums and Alumni Inspire sessions, the Department has had number of visitors over the years. Some of our recent visitors include Mr. Parameswaran Iyer, Prof. C P Chandrasekhar, Prof Manmohan Aggarwal, Dr. Pronab Sen, Prof. Rohini Somanathan, Prof Amit Shovon Ray, Prof Mausami Das, Prof. Purnamita Dasgupta, Prof. Sreekant Gupta, Dr. Srinath Reddy and Prof J B G Tilak.

The Department has had student and faculty exchange programmes with different universities and colleges of Sri Lanka and Bhutan. It has an illustrious set of alumni working in academia, business corporations as well as the civil society worldwide. They are more than willing to join for interactive sessions with students.
